NewActon South

NewActon South is an 18-storey building with 189 dwellings, a theatrette and presentation space, work space, and cafe restaurant Mocan And Green Grout. Two-storey townhouses at the base connect to Kendall Lane and many were originally used as hotel apartments, managed by Hotel Hotel.

NewActon South was conceived in the early 2000s. Its residential arrangements are diverse, combining townhouses and units of various sizes and configurations in a single building. It has a strong focus on art, with contemporary pieces filling its communal spaces. People who live here are refreshed by views out to Lake Burley Griffin and its foreshore parklands, along with Parliament House, the National Museum of Australia and the National Gallery of Australia. It’s more quaint community components such as the level four community garden and book exchange shelving endure today.
