A visual essay of marble offcuts and objects from marble yards in Athens by Royffe.Flynn

Marble is a material embedded within Greek history, culture and landscape, with marble-bearing tracts covering 75% of the country’s footprint. It has been used as an architectural material since antiquity and continues to be prolific in the built environment today.

We are exploring the use of reclaimed marble in our Athens development projects. This collection of images captures the marble objects and offcuts selected by Royffe Flynn and purchased by Molonglo for our upcoming projects – all sourced from reclamation yards in and around the city.
