Molonglo

Walking, A Subversive Design Act is a symposium curated by Molonglo for Melbourne Design Week 2020.

Through a series of walks and talks, the symposium explores walking as a means to generate architecture and shape the meaning of spaces, as well as the possibilities of places that encourage walking – and practical ideas for designing them.

This is the third iteration of Molonglo’s research-based program for MDW; it follows 2019’s Landscape as Protagonist and 2018’s Tall Buildings: Their Problems and Some Ideas. Learnings from the program will be compiled and offered as an open resource in the hope that it will encourage new thinking and discussion in the development industry around the importance of walking and its capacity to shape the way we think, act and design.
