Hotel Furniture Commissions
Molonglo collaborated with designer Don Cameron to create a number of limited-edition furniture pieces, first designed to sit alongside a large collection of mid-century furniture in the public spaces and rooms of Hotel Hotel.
The objects referenced the Australian shack. Made from natural, tactile materials, the collection included stools and chairs upholstered with shaggy textiles, kidney coffee tables in patinated brass with colour laminate tops, a metal utility bed lamp and leather banquette seating. Pieces were made by the hands of local craftspeople including the late metal worker Louis Berczi and master upholsterer Edwin Odermatt.
