Troias Studio

The apartment has double windows on both street fronts, in a court-anglais configuration. It comprises a pair of interconnected rooms that would suit an artist’s studio or workspace, as well as a storage space, kitchenette and bathroom.

The apartment includes mosaic and marble floors, a new marble sink and benchtop in the kitchen, a bathroom with marble-clad floors and walls, and new aluminium window frames with double glazing. The internal walls have been restored with a light touch, revealing the underlayers of the building.

Troias Studio is on the lower ground floor of a six-storey polykatoikia (apartment building) built in the 1950s. It was recently refurbished in collaboration with London-based architects, Royffe Flynn. The home has a beautiful big entrance with marble steps and mirrors and sits on a prominent corner location at the intersection of Troias and Drosopoulou.

The studio is in the lively Athenian neighbourhood of Kypseli – a five-minute walk from Agiou Georgiou Square, well-known for its tavernas and local bars, and one of Athens’s largest public parks, Pedion tou Areos. It is within walking distance to the weekly Farmers Market, the Victoria metro station, and Kypseli’s busy and lovely tree-lined pedestrian square, Fokionos Negri, occupied by small cafés, restaurants, bars and shops.
